The History or Story Behind My Site
I started collecting trucks back in 1985 when I got out all of my truck from years back and started cleaning them up. I have had several Nylints that needs some repair and a paint job like my Adams Travel Loader. Its in pretty rough shape. but, I will try to get all the parts that I need and fix it up like new. I have started taking it apart and sanding off the rust on the outside and the inside. Its going to be a project no dout. I need a conveyor belt for the back along with a roof for over the cab and a crank handle to make the belt turn. But if I can't get a belt I won't need the crank. Nylint is now sold out to Hasbro toys and they have no record of any parts list for this piece. Its to far back. I will still keep looking. I within the past year started collecting First Gear Cement Mixers and Dump Trucks and Snow Plows. I do have a few of each of these. I got a car hauler and a Dump Truck with a Dump Trailer to follow behind carrying the same amount of load as in the truck.
MY ACTIVE LIFE:
I am a Volunteer Fireman here in Perry for 30 years in April of 2002. I do enjoy collecting different types of Fire Trucks of all styles. I have many different ones on display. Check out my photo page for some great pictures. I am a Fire Photographer for the department. I have been doing this since 1972 when I bought my first camera. It was a Kodak 30 110 instamatic which I still have. But, I have had a problem getting a battery for it. I also have 3 - 35mm Minolta Camera's. An XG-7, XG-A, 5xi Auto Focus with about 6 different lenses. I now have 2 - Kodak Digital Camera's. A 210+ and a 290 Camera. I have 4 different picture cards that I can take a total of 1700 pictures without downloading. In 2001 I took 5,015 pictures for the total year using the 35mm's and the digitals. I love taking pictures of Fair's & Festivals held around New York State. We sure did some traveling this past summer and got some great pictures. I am setting up a spot where I can take pictures of all of my trucks and have sufficent lighting. That been a problem in the past either to much of not enough lighting. Some of the pictures I have already done are way to dark and when I use the flash I get a glare off the metal or windows. Can't win. I am making a special box type background to hopefully eliminate the glare.
